Health... where does it all go wrong?

Our health is influenced by four main components:

  1. Structure - the muscles, joints and bones

  2. Nutritional deficiencies and elimination of toxins

  3. Thoughts and emotions - psychological stress

  4. The subtle energy of the body - which connects the first 3 aspects of health.

The resulting symptoms of ill health can include:

  • Aches, pains and headaches

  • Allergies

  • Colds infections and inflammation

  • Digestive issues, IBS and food intolerances

  • Fatigue and immune system dysfunction

  • Mental and emotional stress

  • Skin problems

  • Sleeping issues

Our bodies have to work hard to maintain the balance of these four components as it can easily be upset by:

  • Stress

  • Poor diet

  • Pollutants

  • Toxicity

  • Trauma

  • Emotional distress

Touch for Health Kinesiology

Traditionally kinesiology refers to the study of muscles and movement in the body but in the field of natural health, muscles are perceived as indicators or monitors of stress and imbalance within the body. Hence muscle testing is used to detect and correct those imbalances, thus addressing the underlying causes of disease or malfunction in the body.

Touch for Health is the most widely used system of kinesiology in the world and is recognised and respected as a fundamental training for other kinesiology systems as well as a healing modality in its own right.

The Meridian System

The therapy of kinesiology is derived from the connection between the 'subtle' energy of the body and the muscles of the physical structure. There are specific pathways called meridians (as acknowledged in acupuncture) which carry energy/information to all parts of the body. They can be mapped throughout the body in corresponding pairs and each one has many acupuncture points or energy hot spots along its path.

There are 14 meridians, each one responsible for particular organs or systems in the body e.g. the heart, intestines, stomach, lungs etc.

How does it work?

Each meridian is also directly connected to one or more particular muscles of the physical structure. Therefore by testing the strength of any given muscle it can be established which meridians are not working to full potential. A whole variety of techniques can then be used to rebalance the body and activate the body's intrinsic healing process so that it can better heal itself.
